Love having Decker chillin' on my screen. Would be amazing if he started dancing when I play some music. Also, +1 to more clothing options including more bondage items.
As long as you are on a Windows PC and have the Desktop Buddy App set to the active Window(by clicking on it in the Task Bar) - hover your mouse over the bottom right corner of the screen to bring up the menu button. This will give you access to the 'game' options.
Very nice so far, would be nice if he had a few more clothes to pick from like white briefs/jock. Also would be neat if there was a body hair version to add more or remove it like pit fluff and belly/chest hair. Liking it so far though!
Heh glad to hear, im enjoying having him on my screen and his animations. Another couple animation ideas im sure you thought of is having a one where he grabs his bulge or plays with himself nude. Would be neat to have a bulge slider and erect mechanic as well with clothing but i know its probably more complicated to do and this is just a fun project to work on. Final thing would be skins to change him up a bit and allow custom ones. Looking forward to what you make!
Opening the menu is almost impossible there, as touch does not generate the mouse events for position the same way a real mouse does, so getting the menu to show up is a game of luck. And when getting it open none of the items could be selected with touch (might be the same problem with the inactive window).
Maybe adding a context menu or a symbol for the info area would be a solution for that.
Hmm, I hadn't even considered touch screens when making this application. I'll add a disclaimer to the game page to let people know it isn't touch screen compatible.
Looking good so far, but the settings menu needs a workover: Transparent may look stylish, but is actually hard to read/see depending on the backround. The click thrugh/mouse transparency is also good, but it happens also when the settings menu is open and then it is just annoying.
I'll add some Menu screen re-works to my list "Things to Fix" for the next build.
I'm currently working on building a monitor/screen selector workflow, so it shouldn't be too long before I have a solution nutted out. I ideally want the user to be able to drag the avatar across all of their monitors, but at the very least I plan I letting the user choose which monitor to load the avatars into.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "The click through/mouse transparency is also good, but it happens also when the settings menu is open and then it is just annoying." If you can give me a little more info I'll see what I can do.
The whole application is mouse transparent, allowing to click on the windows behind it, good for the avatar, but bad for the settings, they also become transparent to the cursor when the window loses focus, either by a popup window, a notification or just by clicking outside of it. Then it is not possible to interact with the setting untill the tab in the application bar is clicked. Same for the hover menu, that should show up when moving the mouse to the bottom right corner. That feature only works when the window is focused. It's not intuitive.
Ah yep now I understand what you mean, thanks for being so thorough :)
You are correct, the menus/buttons, etc are only clickable while the Desktop Buddy application is the active "window", so it will become passive/unclickable when you click on anything else, and then will only become clickable again when you activate it by clicking on it in the Taskbar or by alt-tabbing to it.
I'm working on a solution for this issue, as yes it is, as you said, not intuitive as it currently stands. I'm just trying to find the right balance of maintaining interactivity with the Decker avatar while still allowing the user to go about their business and not be hindered or encumbered by Decker being on the desktop. I accepted the current approach for now, as it gives the user full control of when Decker is intractable and when he isn't, as he is designed to be a background application first and foremost. Being in view, but not "in the way" as much as possible. You can see the dilemma here.
Hmm, I haven't had that bug come up before. The only major thing I'm trying to find a solution for is that you need to make sure the Desktop Buddy App is the active windows application(by clicking on it in your task bar) so that the quick menu will appear.
Another issue which has been fixed(will be in the next build) is that the Avatar Position tool(the circle with the arrows) was on the same layer as the quick menu buttons, so if you have the Avatar Position Tool in the same screen space as the Quick Menu then the Position tool takes precedence and closes the Quick Menu, blocking your access to the buttons.
Feel free to message me with more info if your bug keeps occurring and I will see what might be the cause.
I'm glad you are enjoying the app regardless of the bugs :)
V0.2 was free for 7 days(3 days after replying back to the previous comment), then went paid again when V0.3 was released. I've left it as a paid product now.
There is no Demo available, but if you buy Desktop Buddy and are unhappy with your purchase, let me know and I will find a way to refund you.
I buy it, I tested and I liked... A lot! If you still have plans to make more stuff for him like saying random stuff or even chat with the player, then, it's was a very good purchase... ;)

Sadly it's looking that way. Real life keeps getting in the way.
I may pick it up again some day, but I can't make any promises at this time :/
if you ever do pick it up again, could a please make a request... a sheathed peens instead of a human one?
Yeah I haven't seen Decker with a Sheath before :)

A great idea that I would love to see improvement on
only gripe about it is that I personally don't like the style of them
Keep up the good work!
I LOVE IT, just amazing retro concept, and this guy it's kinda handsome and cute :3
One new fearure I would like to see is some dialog or moan sounds at least, or even more clothing for the character.
Great desktop buddy.
Very nice, but he could use nipples.
I dig this quite a bit! Also, I'm weird, but I'd love to have the shoes as a toggle too! I do dig his sneaks.

I will add your ideas to the list and see how I go :)

Tried it on a Touchscreen device now...
That opens a new can of worms:

Thanks for the info.
Run's in linux with wine and core fonts.
it looks great bit buggy but great. maybe in the future youi coul possibly collab with people and then have more sona options
That's the plan :)
im looking forward to future updates

Same... Would be interesting...
Fluids are definitely on the road map :)
The game doesn't like the menu button being clicked, keeps closing on me whenever I try to open the menu. Otherwise enjoying the cutie on my desktop

i would like to get it for free :
No Problem. To keep things in inline with my Patreon, Desktop Buddy: Decker here on Itch.io will become free/'pay what you want' in 3 days time :)
This was 14 days ago... But hey, if I buy it and I don't like it, can I get my money back? Or you wouldn't have a demo there, would you?

Awesome, I'm glad you are happy :)
This project is still very much in development, so expect more updates and added features in the future.
I'm down to check this out
This is a sort of exotic concept, but very interesting, definitely gonna play it
:)
